Last night Crop

Boy, when you get older it sure is hard to stay up late.  Had a fun crop though.  Mostly friends & family.  Had several people cancel due to illness.  I think Flu has hit. Because of my past job working at an elementary school I have been spraying Lysol around the store hoping to keep the germs away.  So back to the crop. My husband usually works security for us but had to work late so my step brother came with his wife.  Then my brother who is my Tech guy for the store came to do some computer work.  I have a good friend who's birthday is today so we celebrated last night at the crop and her husband came.  I don't think I've ever been to a crop with men.  I also had a friend come for the b-day celebration that doesn't crop so I had a project for her.  I had a friend that brought me a box of buttons so my friend that doesn't scrap sorted buttons.  Then one of the husbands got in on the sorting.  It was very amusing. I got great pictures & they are on Facebook.  We also had a pajama party theme but only half of us wore them.  So till midnight we cropped & ate.  I didn't get home until after 1 am.  On the way home there was apparently a drunk driver cause he was driving on the wrong side of the highway.  If I had of been in the fast lane I would have been hit head on.  Thankful God kept me safe.  So getting to bed so late it was hard to get up & get back to the store.  Woke up with a migraine.  Getting old isn't fun.  Use to be able to stay up all hours of the night.  This spring I'll be the big 4..0..so hopefully I'll be able to keep hanging with these late night crops.  So if you are looking for a fun place to crop come check out Faithful Scrapper in Kaufman, TX.  Thanks to all my friends & family that came last night.  It was a great time.

It's getting busy around here.....

I have been busy getting crops, classes, & demos scheduled.  Have several embroidery orders.  God has been good.  My theme scripture through the whole adventure of starting the store has been Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.  He really is blessing the store and it is so good to see Him work.

Check out my facebook page for upcoming events.

What did we do before the Internet?

Well I feel out of sorts.  I did not have Internet all day at the store.  Not a good thing when you use the Internet all day long.  What did we do before computers?
Since I didn't have Internet I did some re-merchandising.  Also got some sewing done & needed to do some embroidery.  But once again without Internet I couldn't get on-line to download the embroidery designs I needed.

Anyone ready to make some Valentine cards?  I have a couple on display & will have a make & take coming up in February.  I'll have to get back with you on the date.
Well this is going to be short & sweet today.  I hope everyone is staying caught up on scrapping your holiday pictures.

My First post

I had a friend suggest I start a blog to help promote my business.  The problem is I'm not very good at writing.  I was the one in school that copied word from word from the encyclopedias when doing a report.  Yes, encyclopedias.  That's what we used before computers & could find info on-line.  Well I'm showing my age now.

I have had many jobs but have always wanted my own business.  I was working as an Administrative Assistant at an elementary school before I opened Faithful Scrapper.  Faithful Scrapper had been a previous scrapbooking store.  I had been a customer & when they announced they were closing I was so sad.  I had enjoyed getting to know the girls that worked there & getting my friends together to crop.  We called it "therapy".  I did alot of praying & had family & friends praying as well about buying the store.  It was about a year process as they stayed open for a long time trying to clear out inventory.  God opened the door & the adventure began.  Leaving a job after 13 years was a major deal.  I feel like I'm flying by the seat of my pants but it sure is fun.

I am hoping to use this blog to show ideas for scrapbooking.  It can be overwhelming if you are just starting to scrapbook.  I first started scrapbooking about 15 years ago when I met a Creative Memories consultant.  I had my first CM party & learned about acid free materials & how to preserve my memories.  I also learned it is ok to cut your pictures.  I didn't throw any away or would even think about cutting them.  I still had my negatives (again dating myself).  I loved decorating my pages & with each one getting more creative.  For beginners I would suggest starting with organizing your pictures by year.  Once you get them organized it is easier to put them on a page.  Well I hope this blog will help all types of scrapbookers.  I look forward to this part of my adventure.
